Juan Quezada spent his boyhood scouring the canyons and forests of Mexico’s Sierra Madre in search of wood with which to make charcoal to sell in the local markets. Wherever his huarache-clad feet carried him in that scenic land, he found evidence of a past civilization, mostly in the form of pottery shards.
Have you ever laughed so hard you thought you might bust a gut? As it turns out, it’s usually not laughter that causes it. And, honestly, it’s not truly funny when it does happen. A busted gut is more correctly termed “hernia.” It happens when an anatomical part protrudes through an opening where it shouldn’t be.
While serving as a young missionary in South America, My companion and I were assigned to visit fellow missionaries working in a small Uruguayan town. We disembarked at the town plaza. I kept the bag on the floor beside me during the event and at the conclusion I was accosted by a stranger who demanded to know what was in my bag.

Tourism brought in over $171 billion to Texas in 2017. Jobs created were 1.1 million. Beautiful, rivers, and streams are essential for drawing tourists to Texas. The proposed water treatment facility will have a huge impact on our community. Besides tourism, we must consider health factors. Clean water is vital for health.
This city is blessed to have an incredible emergency services team, who worked tirelessly to secure the scene and ensure public safety after a major traffic accident along U.S. Hwy. 281/Main St. last week. Our emergency services, fire and police departments responded within seconds to the scene of a horrific crash scene, which posed may challenges and had many complexities.
