We will be providing a GriefShare Program starting Tuesday March 6 at 6:30 p.m. We will meet at the First United Methodist Church in the Activity Center in Johnson City. GriefShare is a program to help people who are grieving from the loss of a loved one. It helps heal and gives hope to the grieving person.
If one of your resolutions for 2018 is to look younger, feel better and live longer you won’t want to miss the upcoming program on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the library. This program was postponed last month because of the ice storm. Our guest presenter Brian Leaf is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the U.S.
Hill Country Memorial will host a free “Red in Johnson City” presentation about heart health on Wed., Feb. 21 at the Johnson City Public Library (501 N. Nugent Ave.). A complimentary lunch will be provided at 12:30 p.m. followed by a presentation on the connection between diabetes and heart health. The presentation includes a question-and-answer session with Dr.
Individuals considering joint replacement surgery are invited to a free “Destination Restore” presentation with dinner at the Blanco Library (1118 Main St.) on Tues., Feb. 27. A complimentary dinner will be provided at 6 p.m., with a presentation to follow. Hill Country Memorial Restore Program Coordinator Marilyn Berry and orthopedic surgeons will discuss types of hip, knee and shoulder replacement implants, treatment options and information about pre-operative classes and coaching.
Gem of the Hills Senior Citizens Community Center (GOTH) is planning its first fundraiser since its founding in 1984. The Board of Directors and volunteers of Gem of the Hills invite the community to “Indie Film Nite” in Blanco Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. GOTH is partnering with Hill Country Film Society (HCFS) to offer a slate of Film Shorts in Blanco.
Saturday Feb. 10 A Valentines Gala will be held at the Blanco County Show Barn benefitting The Johnson City Community Education Foundation. Sixty years ago, 14 young men and women crossed the stage in the E.J. Hyatt Gym to receive their diplomas from “Johnson City High School.” Since then, we have lost three of our classmates, Charles Ahrens, Denton Sharp, and James Schumann.
