The Llano Country Opry will be staged on Saturday, July 13, at the Lantex Theater in Llano. Lieutenant Governor Names Members to Redistricting Panel Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick on June 28 released the names of his appointees to the Texas Legislature’s 2021 Redistricting Committee. Patrick, who presides over the 31-member state Senate, named Sen. Joan Huffman, R-Houston, as chair of the committee, and Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen, as vice chair.
On Friday, June 28, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the opening of the Barrel House, located at 101 E. Main St. in Llano. The building is previously known as Main Street Affairs. Vernon West Memorial Friday night at the John L Kuykendall Arena, a near record-breaking crowd made its way to Llano for a special night of Barrel Racing. Put on by Se`Vette Early and her husband Sam, the event began to grow larger as the time came, first 120 racers, then on Thursday it was up to 140, and by the time the race began, there were 178 barrel racers entered.
The Rock’N Riverfest will be this Saturday, July 6, at Badu Park on the Llano River. If you come, you will have a great time. For the kids, there will be an area with multiple rides from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A $10 wrist band is required to experience the rides.
The Kingsland Masonic Lodge # 1424 invited Commissioner Mike Sandoval to attend their Lodge dinner July 1 prior to the start of their monthly meeting, where they presented the Commissioner, who is on the Board of Directors of the Kingsland Boys & Girls Club, a check for $1,000 toward the Kingsland Club summer meals program.
