The Llano City Council on Monday approved final financing to build a pro shop and maintenance building at the golf course, which includes a small mandated bump in taxes.
Last month, the council voted to approved a $250,000 from Llano National Bank to build a pro shop and maintenance building at the city’s golf course.
The body of a man pulled from the Llano River near Kingsland has been identified.
Jarod Lee Layton, 38, of Kingsland, was pulled from the river on May 27. At 4:19 p.m., a man knocked on the door of a residence in the 6700 block of River Oaks in Kingsland, and reported he had just pulled a deceased male from the Llano River.
Deputies and investigators responded and conducted an on-scene investigation that included speaking to several witnesses.
A 69-year old Llano County man was convicted on two counts of aggravated sexual assault with a child, and was sentenced to two life sentences.
Billy Rousch was found guilty by a Llano jury on the two counts. Judge Evan Stubbs sentenced Roush to two life sentences which were then “stacked,” so they must be served consecutively.

Llano Independent School District held ceremonies at Llano Junior High School and Llano High School on Thursday and Friday nights.
At the Junior high School, 135 8th grade students walked the stage on Thursday night as they received their promotion to 9th grade and on to Llano High School.
“We don’t call this graduation because you have four more years to go, this is a promotion and we hope you all finish your high school career,” said Principal Todd Keele.
An overflow crowd watched Llano Christian Academy’s second graduating class receive their diplomas last Thursday.
Amanda Schmidt and Tristan Najar became the second and third graduates of the school in the hour-long ceremony at LCA’s first-year home on Green Street.
