The regular meeting of the Mason Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at2 p.m. in the Stribling Room of the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. Guest speaker will be District V Director Charlotte Weiss of McGregor who will speak on “Monarch Butterflies” District V Assistant Director Janice King will also be attending. Even though Charlotte’s first love is hummingbirds, she is also passionate for all pollinators.
Valentine’ Day is this Friday. I usually find something for my grandkids. However, I have only purchased a present for my great grandson. Does this mean I have changed focus on grandkids? I guess I better get busy to stay in my families good graces. Or maybe, I will just get a bag of chocolate and give them some only if they come see me before I eat it all.

Storytime activities in January included making take home penguins after reading Helen Lester’s story Tacky, the Penguin. A selection of Valentine’s Day stories and crafts will be center stage at Storytime on Monday, February 11. Have you noticed that spring seems to be here already? We have had beautiful weather. I was inspired to walk around my yard to look at all that needs to be done. The water table must be very high. We have several springs that run when the water table is high.
