Patrick Nelson Eppler passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 90 years. He was born on a ranch in Mason County on October 14, 1931, to Walter Tipton and Mollie Kinsey Eppler. Pat had three children and is survived by son Kurt and wife Camilla Eppler; and daughter Karla Eppler, from his first wife Earlene Moore, of Mason.
Pastor Jon Weber Bielfeldt was called home Monday November 22, 2021, at the age of 76. Jon was born April 30, 1945, to Karl and Mildred Bielfeldt in San Antonio, TX. Jon grew up in Mason, Texas, and graduated from Mason High School in 1963. Outdoorsman, Pastor, Telephone Lineman, and many more titles he held provided him an opportunity to impact many lives. Jon was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Kathy, and brother, Dan Bielfeldt.
Terry Bob Makowsky, age 69, of Big Spring, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born August 2, 1952 in Lamesa, Texas to parents, Daniel John Makowsky and Bobbie (Carraway) Makowsky.
After long, wonderful lives, Frances Katherine (nee Kruse) and William (Billy) August Bode, died on November 3rd and 5th, respectively. She was 97 and he was 98. In May, they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary at their ranch on the Llano River, surrounded by their large extended family. Throughout their marriage, Billy and Frances were inseparable so it is fitting that they were apart only one night. Jimmie Sue Bode, of Meadowlakes, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, at the age of 80. Sue was born in Commerce, Texas on September 9, 1941, to James Clyde Walker and Martha Morrison Walker. She earned her Master of Education degree from North Texas University. Sue loved being a teacher and taught in Odessa, Fort Stockton, Lewisville and Denton. Sue and her husband Charles were married for 58 years and were blessed with two sons, Clay and Zane.
Raymond Lee Brandenberger, 79, of Mason, Texas, died on November 9, 2021. Raymond was born on March 19, 1942, in Brady, Texas to Howard and Dessie Brandenberger. Upon graduation from Mason High School in 1960, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Raymond married Patsy Mahan on January 21, 1984, and together they shared a blended family of three daughters, Dee Ann Brandenberger, Sammie Veit, and Jodie Mahan. Peggy Ann (Zesch) Laverty died on August 24th, 2021, in Durango Colorado. Her funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason, Texas, on November 27th, 2021, at 2:00 pm. She chose the church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married- this was her home. Peggy was born in the ranch home her parents built during the Great Depression in Mason, Texas.
David Priess, of Fredonia, passed away on Monday, November 11, at the age of 60. Mr. Priess is survived by his mother Ora May Morris Priess of Fredonia, a brother Randy Priess and wife, Sheila, of Cottula, a sister Melissa Haliburton of Fredonia, nieces and nephews: Robert Priess, Randy Priess Jr.
Ron Sutton, 77, of Junction passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2021, at his beloved lake house at Buchanan Dam. He was born December 11, 1943, in San Angelo, TX to Leonard and Dimple Sutton who were successful business owners in Junction for many years. Ron was raised in Junction and graduated from Junction High School.
