Ross and Emily (Freeman) Graham of Austin, Texas are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Jack Ismay Freeman, born January 8, 2015, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 21 inches. Proud grandparents are Joe and Carol Freeman of Llano and Michael and Penny Graham of Bolton-Le-Sands, England.
On Sunday, February 15, 2015 Angela Allred, daughter of Jerry and Alberta Allred, hosted her parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. It was held at the Kingsland Community Center from 2 to 6 pm. Approximately 275 wonderful family and friends were in attendance. Very tasty finger foods were served by Kevin Bailey and Co.
Lee Ackley is proud to announce the arrival of his sister and brother, Jamy Lou and Jeryn Lott. The twins were born Thursday, February 19, 2015 at College Station Medical Center. Jamy was born at 5:50 pm weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. Jeryn was born at 5:52 pm weighing 5 lbs.
Spring is finally here. At least it's close enough for the Llano County Master Gardeners in cooperation with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to schedule their annual Lawn and Garden Show. The big event will be on Saturday, March 21, 2015, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Methodist Church Family Life Center, 308 West Main St.
Hill Country Memorial Hospital's CEO Jayne Pope has been named to Becker's Hospital Review's 2015 list of "50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know." This list recognizes some of the most impressive leaders dedicated to advancing healthcare in small towns and rural communities. This is the second edition of the "Rural Hospital CEOs to Know"
Recently Llano PD officer Allyn Rub retired from 17 years of service to the city. He joins his partner Cora who retired December 31, 2013, and lives at the same address. Officer Rub is 48. Cora retired at the age of nine. Cora is a trained K-9 drug dog and was party to many arrests over the years.
Larry Fagarason will be speaking to The Llano County Master Gardeners about succulents on Thursday, February 19 at 5:30 at the Extension Office in Llano. The public is welcome to attend the program. Larry is a retired Cardiothoracic surgeon who, after 35 years of practice, moved to Kerrville. Since he has always been interested in plants, he planned on turning those interests into a post-retirement hobby/"job." His interest in cacti and succulents dates back to an Army posting at Ft.
Terry Lee Fontenot will be presenting a demonstration in drawing/illustrations at the Llano Fine Arts Gallery Studio on February 2 at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited. The studio is located at 503 Bessemer Avenue in Llano. A potluck lunch will be served afterward; a $5.00 donation will cover the demo and potluck luncheon. Terry was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 5, 1951.
Brianna Verette, 2010 graduate of Llano High School, has earned the honor of being on Tarleton State University Scholastic Honor's Dean's List for the fall 2014 semester. The Scholastic Honor's Dean's List is one of the highest honors Tarleton State University confers on their students. This distinction is the university's way of honoring academic achievements and recognizing commitment to achieving excellence as a truly outstanding student, according to Dr.

Then make plans to attend the Medicare Educational Workshop: "Understanding Your Medicare Choices" at the Llano Library on Thursday, January 29 at 3:00 p.m. This workshop is designed to assist Medicare and Medicaid recipients on "How to Choose, Change, Enroll in 2015 Medicare Health Advantage or Supplemental Plans and/or Prescription Drug Plans".
