CASA for the Highland Lakes Area (CASA) has been awarded $7,500 from the Texas Bar Foundation to fund its 5-County Mobilization Project. “With this award, we can reimburse our advocates for mileage when visiting their CASA kids within a 50-mile radius of the CASA’s home. The 2019 Annual Junior Livestock Show Member Meeting will be held, Monday, April 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the John L Kuykendall Center (new concession stands area). Toni: I am turning 65 in July and am an insulin dependent diabetic. I take two insulins which are rather expensive. I am concerned about the Part D Donut Hole because I’ve seen my husband struggle with his current choice. Last year, my husband Steve changed from his Medicare Supplement Plan with a separate Part D plan to a Medicare Advantage PPO plan.  He was told that his doctors were in the plan and all of my husband’s heart meds were covered.
In the last Commissioners Court, the Commissioners approved a recommendation that the 2900 Bridge be re-named in honor of David and Pat Enloe. This had to go to TxDOT for their approval. City Council Meeting of April 1, 2019
On April 1, 2019 Mayor Gail Lang gave a proclamation at the Llano City Council Meeting, declaring the day as Abby Machuga Day. Fourteen-year-old, Abby Machuga, performed an act of bravery by bringing her three younger siblings to safety when a fire broke out at their home on the morning of March 12.
BURNET— On Wednesday, March 27 at approximately 1:40 a.m., 25-year-old Brandon Michael Jacque was shot and killed by a Burnet police officer in the 300 block of S. McNeil St. in Burnet. According to a statement given by Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson, at 1:35 a.m. the Burnet Police Department received a dispatch in reference to a loud music call.
