A Prayer for wisdom O Wisdom on High, by you the meek are guided in judgment, and light rises up in darkness for the godly. Grant us, in all doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what you would have us do, that we may be saved from all false choices, and that in your light we may see light, and in your straight path may not stumble; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, U.S.A., 20TH CENT., ALT.
In these crazy times of COVID-19, we all strive to continue our lives as “normal” as possible. In the Hill Country, the fall is often a time of festivals, celebrations, and fund raisers. At St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba, Texas, we, like many others, are getting creative when looking at traditional festivals and celebrations. In an effort to continue our annual Festival, while being safe and practicing social distancing, we are moving our event to Risien Park in San Saba.
A Prayer for the People
Greetings, We have a lot on our plate this day, this week, and the weeks to come. We need to be in prayer for the families that mourn from tragic loss, for our community, students, teachers, school staff, and for those who are sick. I find a comforting piece of scripture from Psalm 121; 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
Greetings, Eight months have gone in 2020 and it seems we are still waiting to launch. I know we have been doing our best to get things done but with all the things from Covid-19, Murder Hornets, civil disobedience and so on this year has had a couple failures to launch.
Members of First Baptist Church & River of Life Church are holding a Worship in the Park event to bless the community of Mason. The event will be held at Heritage Park (behind the library) on Saturday 25th July at 6 p.m. Come and sing along or listen to some of your old favorite hymns as well as some newer modern songs.
New Hearts July is Declaration of Independence month when we celebrate our country and freedom. Our nation and other nations are facing many challenges – not only COVID-19 but also the need for equality and justice for all people, whatever our races, cultures, or skin colors. One of the great keys to our country’s success has been our ability to adapt and become new in order to move forward.
The Brownwood Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes is honored to recognize Mason High School coach Denis Cano as the Area Huddle Leader of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year. Cano was selected from more than 30 FCA huddle leaders in the area. Cano has served as Mason’s FCA huddle leader for the past three years.
Many people are worried about the US economy. There are over 17 million people unemployed in the US and trillions are being spent by our government in aid. After Covid – 19 is over, will the economy recover? Will it bounce back? What effect will this quarantine have had on it?
God Is Faithful Spring is my favorite time of the year. It’s a time of new beginnings. Everything is green and fresh and beautiful; wildflowers abound. Spring even brings about the feelings of new life, similar to when a baby is born. But this Spring has also brought fear, dread, uncertainty, confusion, and torment.
There is so much that we are struggling through right now. Many struggle with isolation, others fear loss of income, and other even fear the future. Many are wrestling with loneliness and grief. I know that there are those who are introverts by nature, but even then, we are a species that is more social than not.
