Olin and Gloria - had wonderful Blackberries and Fresh Eggs.

The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, May 16th, for it’s weekly luncheon meeting. There were 34 members and 6 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 5 Mason I.S.D. Sophomores and their teacher, Megan Bierschwale. The students were Sloan Townsend, Ethan Powell, Chet Weitz, Reagan Glentz, and Brooke Wheelock.
“Boss” Lion Jess Irwin spoke about the 4 scholarships presented by the Mason Lions Club to 4 deserving Mason I.S.D.
The gown still fits
For the past few years I’ve had my nose to the grindstone, my ear to the ground, and my hand to the plow, busily striking while the iron was hot. Which is a difficult position to work in, but it was necessary, since I decided a while back to return to college.
One thing for sure is that Oklahoma roads are not what we have here in Texas. Folks in Oklahoma are friendly, perhaps they are transplants from Texas. But, was honored to get to go and see my Lady Bug Graduate! They had fifty-five Valedictorians and proud to say she was one of them.
‘Fake News’ Back When?...
Sometimes, a random thought crosses my mind (admittedly, it’s usually a rough crossing), and there’s no guarantee of safe arrival to the other side. Such thoughts often bob up and down like a fishing line cork that’s way too big, thus giving a six-year-old fisherperson mixed signals as to whether the time has come to “land” a four-inch perch.

I love this time of year! The weather is warmer, the days are longer and everyone seems to cheerier with winter being over. Spending time with friends and family at the river or lake, outdoor cook outs, these activities I really look forward to and they bring back a lot of good memories.
Something else that brings back fond memories this time of year is when I see Agarita bushes loaded with Agarita berries.
It has been nice to have some rain in the past week, although it was not as much as we might all hope for. The City is still working to complete the installation of the new pump on well #1 and all of the other steps necessary to get it back on-line and operational.
School will be out in days. I am not sure I am prepared for a summer with grandkids. Really, they are not prepared to do the Grandma jobs I dream up on a regular basis. This should be a fun few months. I have marked the calendar for the first days of preschool activities in August.
Memorial Day is May 29th.
What makes a person feel the need to visit the Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve?
I often ask this question to visitors to the cave. The answers vary...”I was told it was to die for, “I was in the area”, “We wanted a happy memory”, “I was here as a child and wanted my children to have the same experience”, and, “I saw it on the internet and thought it would be cool to check it out.”
