On Tuesday, March 9th, the Mason Lions Club member’s met at Nachos for their weekly meeting. Attendance and membership continued to improve dramatically as Lion Vice Governor Joel Kuykendall inducted a new member to the Club, Joe Hiza, owner of Puncher Towing in Mason. Happy Spring. We will welcome the first day of spring this weekend. I don’t know about you but I am ready for bluebonnets and all the Texas wildflowers. There is an important meeting tonight, March 17, at the Art Methodist Church. Plans are being made to start our Sunday School up again.

I am already depressed that daylight savings time is coming in two weeks. No daylight is saved. The Mason Ministerial Alliance has cancelled their Lenten Lunches. Mason ISD will have Spring Break March 8 through March 12. Happy Birthday to Randall Brown on March 4, and to De’Aun Bryan and Tyra Jordan on March 6.

Easy, Cheesy, Herb Bread courtesy: Juliet Harris
First off, this is a No Knead bread, so those of you who don't like the kneading process will find this one most attractive. It is what is referred to as a “batter bread;” one that has no yeast in it and so you do not have to go through the waiting and rising and punching down routine to put it together.
"It was colder than a penguin's armpit." "How 'bout, colder than a polar bear's footprints?" Old friend Tex Luther and I were trying to come up with clever descriptions on the recent record cold spell. "I heard a couple of good ones at the feed store," said Tex. "One guy said it was so cold he had to get up and break the smoke off his chimney.
