Holidays Throw Schedules Into Disarray....
I am, by all definitions, a creature of habit. I suppose much of that is dictated by this profession. There are meetings, events, happenings and gatherings, all neatly scheduled on my calendar, and all carefully planned so that I can make it from one to the other with no conflicts.
It's not just the day to day schedule, I also have my hour to hour planning carefully scheduled.
Passing of a Star
Found out “The Shooting Star” is going out of business. Having been on the square for 8 years under the ownership and management of Ms. Carolyn E. Airheart, this outlet was much more than just a store. It represented Carolyn’s love of people, from clients to customers to fellow vendors.
Mother’s Brown Bread

This old recipe dates back to the Second World War. The brown bread loaves were made and sold by patriotic women all across the United States so they could buy War Bonds and support the effort. Real easy; real good; quite different.

Carpe Diem
When I started school at age six, my mom thought I could read. She’d been reading the same children’s books to me for years, and I had them all memorized. I could turn the pages and say the right words, so she assumed I’d learned to read, somehow. Which is pretty much how I got through high school, later on.
In Search of Yesterdays…
If there should be an appeal for volunteers to search for innocence lost, misplaced or forfeited in recent decades, sign me up. The downward spiral has been gradual, unlike Dorothy’s sudden realization--upon her arrival at Oz’s Emerald City--that she and her friends weren’t in Kansas anymore.
Mired in a culture where too much information bombards daily, we’re “running out of respites,” even during holidays.
I am thankful for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with lots of good food and visiting with family. If you were too busy to think about your blessings, take time now to be thankful.
I am ready to put up my Christmas decorations. However, my energy level is not there to dig out and tote all the tubs downstairs.

On the Countdown to 60
On Saturday, November 24th, I'll be turning 59 years old. While not considered a "milestone" birthday, it is notable, as it marks the end of my 50s standing on the precipice of 60.
I plan on thoroughly enjoying my last year as a 50-something. My 50s have been a wonderful decade, and I've had so many incredible moments and experiences that I can only hope the 60s will be just as great.
Dear Mason:
I was privileged to be a guest at the Veterans’ Day celebration at the school Monday, November 12th, hosted by the 4th grade.
I personally was escorted through the lunch line and attended to by Sy and Hudson, who sat with me throughout my meal. After our meal we adjourned to the gym, where the Middle School band put on a wonderful concert of patriotic music.
Additionally, the scouts posted the colors, the 3rd graders sang to us, and we veterans were recognized by the branc ...
