Mile High Biscuits
courtesy: Eugenie Morrison
I came across this recipe in an old, Atlanta, GA cookbook that was published in 1968 by the hospital guild. Since I jump on every biscuit or roll recipe that I can find, I thought I’d share this one with you. I don’t remember too many biscuit recipes that call for whipping cream, so this one was a first for me.
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt

Puncher Victory Friday Part of Mason's Beauty
Last Friday night down in Brackettville, the Punchers turned a difficult situation into a breathtaking victory. With less than one minute of play (and even that was questionable considering how the clock was being run), the Mason team gutted up and Tad Kirby took a pass from Matt Kerr, then raced in for a touchdown that brought the home town fans to their feet!
Anyone who left the game early, or who stopped listening after Brackett's last scor ...

In fact, he’s “on track” to exceed the longevity of another “Ray”--this one named “Price”--who died at age 87 a half-dozen years ago after 65 years in music.
Though the two “Rays” never met, Price sang Hil ...

October.
Month of magic.
No longer summer.
No matter it’s 90 degrees.
It’s also cooler nights.
And brighter stars.
October.
The pre-holiday period.
A month without pressure.
Or plans.
A breather.
Between summer and holiday madness.
Thanksgiving lurks way over yonder.
And Christmas is nowhere near the horizon.
October is what it is.
Trees’ leaves change.
And fall.
Pumpkins.
Haunting wind.
Black cats look blacker.
Nighttime darker.
Stars brighter. ...
Fall weather has been so nice. I don’t feel the need to save money and not turn on the heat until we are frozen. We have had cooler weather and a little rain. Best of all, grandson John helped me move all my plants into the greenhouse. This is a chore that gets harder to do each year.
Big Boy
Most of the time news is bad, or else it wouldn’t be news. Our environment is full of dangerous and destructive forces, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, Kardashians, and congress, so there’s plenty of bad news. But once in a while you run across an item that renews your faith in humanity, and the story of Andrea Athie and the coyote is one of those.
