The First United Methodist Church of Mason invites the community to join them on the three Wednesdays of Advent for a celebration of the season with music, lunch, and a message of the joy of Advent. This annual event starts on Wednesday, December 5, with songs presented by the Mason Community Choir from its Christmas Cantata.
The Mason Community Choir will present the cantata, “More Than a Manger” this Sunday, December 2, 6 :00 pm at First United Methodist Church. It is our wish that these songs will help you look through the eyes of your circumstance and see Christmas in a fresh new way. The service is sponsored by the Mason Ministerial Alliance and an offering will be taken to benefit the Mason Food Bank.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. The Pilgrims and Native Americans celebrated it in 1621, some 397 years ago. It became an official America holiday December 26, 1941, 77 years ago when President Roosevelt signed a Bill making it Federal Law. St. Joseph’s parishioners invite you and your friends to come enjoy a delicious Mexican Dinner this Sunday, November 4th. Serving will be 11 AM – 2 PM and the location is now St. Joseph’s Hall! You may “Eat In” and enjoy a relaxing meal or you may drive thru for “Take Out” plates. Each plate is $10.00 and the meal consists of enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, tea and a dessert.
This past Sunday, St. Josephs Youth group spent the afternoon sprucing up Crosby Cemetery in preparation for their upcoming service project. Following in the rich tradition of the Catholic Church in the celebration of All Souls Day. The purpose is to remember and pray for not only our loved ones but for the souls who have passed before us in death.
St. John Lutheran Church of Castell will be celebrating their 125th year of service on October 21, 2018. A special celebration service will be conducted by Pastor Richard Bremer. The service will begin at 10:00 AM with special readings and music. A bar-b-que meal is to follow. All present, former, and descendents of St.
In my last story, I told about going to my first of many camp meetings at Lower Willow Creek. The whole family really enjoyed our brief vacation among our friends and extended family. We also made some new friends. We were anxious to go to another camp meeting to see them and bring one another up to date. During the winter, Mamma & Pappa started talking about going even though it involved a lot of preparation, especially for the women folks.
Students from Surrounding Communities Invited to Oct. 6 Gathering (Mason, Texas) - students from around the Mason Area invite students from surrounding communities to share their Christian faith with fellow students during our 3rd Annual National Fields of Faith Event. This interdenominational outreach event will be held in over 500 locations throughout the nation. Fields of Faith is structured as a student-to-student ministry.
There are many things that I love about moving into a new congregation. I get to meet new pastors, community leaders, parades, the culture, try new restaurants, and hear wonderful stories of how God is working in the lives of his servants. It is interesting to me how many BBQ’s, and Fish Fry’s there are here.
River of Life Church will host the Living Proof Simulcast event with Beth Moore, one of today’s top women’s ministry leaders, on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Along with Beth Moore, worship pastor and Dove Award recipient Travis Cottrell will lead worship via simulcast. Living Proof events bring women from all walks of life together for a time of biblical teaching, worship, and encouragement.
