The Muddy Spartan Poor intelligence caused Custer to lose the battle of the Little Big Horn. Poor intelligence caused Napoleon to lose the battle of Waterloo. Poor intelligence caused me to believe the Spartan Sprint obstacle course race in Pulaski, Tennessee would be 3.1 miles. Welcome to Fall. This weather is so crazy. The rain has been wonderful. We are so grateful to have had slow rain with no flooding. Our neighbors in Sonora and the Austin area were not so lucky. I was out in the country this week and the wildflowers were blooming like it was spring.
Carnival Rides and Oreos…. It is likely true of all old-timers recalling pre-school memories. At times, weren’t we all scared of our own shadows? As a five-year-old, holding tightly onto my parents’ hands, I took on the terrors of the midway when a carnival came to town. It was frightening enough to simply jostle through the crowds, and fears heightened as that first ride loomed. It was unnerving, sitting atop the carousel hobby horse, even though my steed’s only movement—upwa ...
